Purchase of Equipment and Kit is required for this course (Compulsory Cost - Uniform - £22, Beauty Kit - £TBC). Please discuss this at interview stage with a tutor after you have applied.
Dependent on your requirements this course is designed to either fully qualify you to work as a practicing Reflexologist, or to just give you the skills needed to practically apply your skills.
The course is across two evenings or just the one:
Practical Reflexologist – One evening
You will develop your understanding and practical skills to competently provide reflexology services. You will understand the basic anatomy and physiology required for this unit.
Practitioner level – Two evenings
Covering the full anatomy and physiology needed and the other relative theoretical units to gain the knowledge needed to be a fully qualified Practitioner.
Prior to, or alongside this qualification, you will develop your knowledge and gain the qualification for the principles and practice of complimentary therapies, business practice for complementary therapies, health and safety along with anatomy, physiology and pathology for complementary therapies. Prices above are for one evening a week. Prices for two evenings are available on request. Please call the college and ask to speak to a member of the Hair and Beauty team.
You will require GCSEs at grades A*- C or Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology or equivalent, related Level 2/3 qualifications.
A mature approach to study with a high level of motivation is essential.
You will also be required to undertake an initial assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required.
What will I study?
Dependant on choice of practice you will study: Provide reflexology for complementary therapies, Principles and practice of complementary therapies, Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology for complementary therapies, Business practice for complementary therapies
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed via a range of methods which include continual assessment, through observation of your practical work, case studies, the completion of a portfolio, theoretical evidence and assignment work.
