Course Outline

This course is suitable for learners who are interested in developing new or existing skills in a range of IT and administrative tasks as well as having experience running an enterprise task. You will also gain knowledge in your own skills and attributes that will help you to progress in all aspects.

This is a course, which starts from the basics and develops skills in Microsoft software and other IT applications. It is for anyone who is interested in gaining practical software skills and experience in IT and the office environment. Learning is undertaken within our modern and well-equipped classrooms and will take place within a supportive and friendly environment.

Entry requirements

You must be working at Entry Level 2/3 in Literacy and Entry level 2/3 in Numeracy. Working towards E3 qualifications.

You will be invited to attend an interview, and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy, to establish any support required.

What will I study?

You will cover a Business and IT curriculum, which includes Edexcel E3 Award in Business Administration and IT Users and an OCR E3 Extended Certificate in Life and Living skills.

In addition you will also study Essential Skills Wales Communication, Numeracy and Digital Literacy.

How will I be assessed?

You will participate in a period of initial assessment, and your work will be assessed by a range of methods, which may include portfolios, observation and tests.

Career Opportunities and Progression

On successful completion of this course you may progress to other higher level courses, or to employment. Specialist Careers’ advice is provided by Careers Wales and assistance with compiling a CV or accessing training is given prior to completion of the course.
