This course is developed to give a range of independent life and living skills to enhance social abilities and develop the skills needed for everyday life and work. Literacy and numeracy skills are also timetabled and embedded into the curriculum.
No formal academic qualifications are required. However you will be expected to be working at E1 or above in literacy. You will be invited to attend an informal interview whereby literacy skills will be assessed and individual skills will be assessed to establish any support requirements and produce an Individual Learning Plan.
What will I study?
You will study an OCR qualification in Life and Living Skills, which incorporates areas such as home management, environment and the community and personal skills. You will also have the opportunity to study Essential Skills Wales Communications and Numeracy.
How will I be assessed?
Assessments will be continuous throughout the year.
Career Opportunities and Progression
On successful completion of this course you may have the opportunity to progress onto the Edexcel Independence and Work E2 Course, or onto a higher level course within the Vocational Access Department.
