GCSE Maths is a desired qualification for further studies, apprenticeships and employment. The college offers both Foundation tier (grades C to G) and Higher tier (grade A* to E).
Entry to Foundation tier: Grade D.
Entry to Higher tier: Grade D at Foundation or Grade C at Higher.
There is no age limit.
You will need a scientific calculator and geometry set and may be required to buy a study workbook.
What will I study?
The GCSE course is designed to improve your Maths in the following areas: number; algebra; shape and space; handling data and applying Mathematics. You will also cover calculator skills and exam techniques.
How will I be assessed?
There are two examinations at the end of the academic year; one with a calculator and one without. You will be assessed throughout the year to monitor your progress.
Career Opportunities and Progression
A GCSE in Mathematics at grade C or above is often a requirement for entry into higher education, apprenticeships and employment.
