Foundation Learning

Coleg y Cymoedd offers Entry Level courses for learners who may need additional support or who have no formal qualifications.

Foundation Skills courses give you the chance to improve your individual and team working skills. Entry Level 2 and 3 courses are designed to prepare you for employment, for work based training, or to prepare you for further study on a mainstream course within Coleg y Cymoedd. Pre Entry Level 1/2 courses aim to develop your independence, self-support and social skills.

All courses provide opportunities for you to extend your literacy, numeracy and IT skills and gain qualifications in these areas. In addition, most courses contain practical activities designed to develop creative skills and also provide opportunities for physical recreation.

Parents and learners are welcome to visit the college campuses to meet staff before making an application. Please contact the college for further information.

Case Studies of our learners

Jolene Masters

“My tutor was particularly supportive. Working with her and in a college environment gave me the confidence I needed to progress from a foundation level course. I never thought I would now be doing a Masters never alone planning to do a PHD and become a Health Psychologist!”
