Coleg y Cymoedd welcomes many overseas learners each year from countries such as Denmark, Italy, China, Spain, Germany and United Arab Emirates.
Some of these learners stay with local families under our 'Host Family' scheme. The Host Family experience embraces British life, Welsh culture and heritage alongside their studies.
Host Families are typically required to offer learners bed, breakfast and an evening meal Monday to Friday and three meals a day at the weekend.
Current rates are £100 a week per person. Payment is normally made direct by the college to the host family.
All payments to host families are monitored and processed via the college. All welfare problems should be reported to the International Officer who is available for pastoral support. All accommodation is subject to a Health and Safety check and DBS.
Short term programmes ranging from 2 – 12 weeks. These programmes provides EU students (male and female) with the opportunity to participate in work placement in local business gaining real-life on the job training in their chosen area of study. Students are aged 18 or over.
