Meet the Team

Our restaurants are run jointly by members of staff and our learners.  

Typically for each service, one learner will be chosen to be 'head chef' (where they would have designed the menu) and one learner chosen to head front house.

Ian Presgrave

Hospitality and Catering Lecturer and Co-ordinator (Nantgarw)

Ian has worked in the Hospitality and Catering industry for 27 years.  He has worked in various hotels and restaurants throughout the UK, ranging from 1AA rosette to Michelin Star.  

Ian currently develops the college's culinary team for upcoming competitions.

He can be seen in the Nant restaurant Wednesday evening, Thursday and Friday lunchtime.

Hospitality and Catering Tutor

Kirsty has over 15 years of experience in the industry and has worked at Coleg y Cymoedd for 3 years.

Prior to working at the college, Kirsty worked in food and beverage management for an international chain of 5 star hotels in the UK and Europe.

Kirsty is currently delivering our level 3 food and beverage supervisory qualification and can be seen in the Nant restaurant Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
