Level 1 Carpentry.

This 1-year course has been designed for those with no previous experience of carpentry & joinery to provide a foundation for a career within the construction industry.


You will benefit from a variety of activities designed to bring out the best of your potential, and enable you to use your skills and knowledge to gain employment in the industry.

What Will I Learn?

You will study units that reflect the needs of the construction industry, while preparing you for a career within this sector.


The units you may study include: Handle & Store Materials; Work Relationships; Working Platforms; Basic Wood Jointing Techniques; Preparing & Using Portable Power Tools and Maintain & Using Hand Tools. The course contains practical carpentry workshop based lessons with many opportunities to work with hand tools.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements however, you will undertake a formal interview.

Assessment

You will be assessed via a range of methods, which include practical and job knowledge unit tests.

Further Notes

Purchase of steel toe capped boots, overalls and a course text book is required for this course. Please discuss this at interview stage with a tutor after you have applied.
