The course runs for 1 year in which time candidates will be taught and will practice the skills required to undertake Basic Plumbing tasks and to assist a qualified Plumber.
You will cover such aspects as: • Installing and testing pipe systems • Understanding hot and cold water systems • Above-ground drainage systems You will also learn: • Health and Safety, • Key plumbing principles • Common plumbing processes • Central heating systems • Environmental awareness
You will be invited to attend an interview, and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy, to establish any support required.
Assessments will be on-going in the form of direct observation of practical assessments, plus multiple choice questions on–line throughout the year. There will be a final on-line multiple choice test at the end of the course.
On successful completion of this course you can progress onto level 2.
