The skills learnt on this course are the foundation blocks to many different career options and can lead to the next level course within the college.
You will study software applications within the Microsoft Office 365 environment.
This would include, but not be limited to:
• Collaboration and productivity
• Using the internet
• Design Software
• Multimedia products
• IT Presentations
• IT Communications (including social media platforms)

All full-time learners will be expected to attend skills sessions as well as their chosen vocational course. You will also be asked to attend tutorial sessions as part of your full-time course timetable.
You will require 3 GCSEs grades A* to E including Maths and English or successful completion of Entry 3 Foundation qualifications.
You will be invited to attend an interview and will undertake and assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required. At Coleg y Cymoedd we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your assessments. The better your grades the more options you will have and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
All learning is undertaken within our modern and well-equipped IT classrooms.
You will undertake an assessment in each unit which can be generated through a range of activities, including assignments, role play, practical performance and verbal presentations.
You will be expected to work to deadlines and maintain your course files/portfolios to the required standards.
With guidance a learner will be able to operate information and communication software or hardware with knowledge and understanding at the relevant level in a variety of topics they undertake.
Upon successful completion of the course, you may be eligible to progress to the Level 2 Digital Applications (IT).
