Both delivery options cover the same essential content:
• Anatomy, physiology, and nutrition and their relation to exercise and fitness.
• Health and safety in the fitness environment.
• Conducting client and group inductions in gym settings and supporting a healthy lifestyle.
• Planning, instructing, and supervising safe and effective physical activity sessions.
• Professionalism for fitness instructing and personal development.
• Delivering exceptional customer service.
Some experience of gym-based exercises, including free weights, is highly recommended. The course requires physical exertion, and individual participation is essential; therefore, a degree of physical fitness is necessary.
There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at level 2. You will be invited to attend an informal interview where you can meet the course tutors
Learners will be assessed through:
• Coursework/Project.
• Multiple-choice examination.
• Portfolio of evidence.
• Practical demonstration/assignment.
Graduates can progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training, unlocking further career opportunities in the fitness industry.
