You will be introduced to the knowledge and information required to work in a school or college setting.
The qualification is made up of 11 mandatory Units covering topics such as; child and young person development, safeguarding the welfare of children and young people, communication and professional relationships and schools as organisations, and understand children and young people’s play and leisure.
You will be required to gain experience in a school setting.
The awarding body recommends that you have the interest and have the ability to undertake a Level 2 course. 4 GCSEs Grade D or above (including English/Welsh and Maths). Life experience and other qualifications will be considered. Plus DBS clearance
Units are assessed by means of written tasks and a range of assessments in real work environments.
On successful completion of the qualification you will be awarded NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning. This qualification will enable learners to gain employment in a school or college setting. Learners may progress to Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
