TThe Diploma in Accounting comprises: Business Awareness, which looks at the business environment, management, ethics and sustainability; Financial Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements, dealing with aspects of the preparation of financial accounts for sole traders and partnerships; Management Accounting Techniques, which looks at standard methods of preparing and presenting management accounting data; and Tax processes for business looking at VAT returns and PAYE payroll.
You will require a Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. Alternatively, applicants without the Level 2 will need to provide evidence of a thorough understanding of bookkeeping principles gained through prior study or work experience and 5 GCSE's at grades A-C including English Language/Welsh and will need to attend an interview with an AAT tutor.
You will be invited to attend an interview and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required. At Coleg y Cymoedd we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your assessments. The better your grades the more options you will have and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher-level course.
All learning areas of this qualification are assessed using AAT designed Computer Based Assessments.
Successful completion of the Level 3 Diploma in Accounting will allow you to progress onto the Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting.
