What Will I Learn?

You will study 10 different units over the one-year course, gaining you a BTEC L1 Introductory Diploma in Performing Arts. The units aim to give you a sound knowledge of working successfully together, rehearsing and taking part in a variety of theatrical productions.

The course will aim to develop your practical skills in all areas of the Performing Arts sector; singing, dancing and acting. The course aims to develop your dance and movement skills, learning how to prepare for a performance and learn dance styles, such as Jazz and Tap. Alongside dance, you’ll have acting classes to further develop your performance skills. You’ll take part in 3 performances throughout the year, a devised piece of theatre, a Shakespeare performance and end the year with a Musical Theatre production. This practical course promises to give you an exciting introduction to the Performing Arts courses available at Coleg y Cymoedd.
