Learners will study for a Level 1 BTEC Diploma in Vocational Studies, focusing on Creative Arts and Media. The course is structured into nine practical units that cover various aspects of the creative industries:
• Shooting a Short Film • Creating an Animation • Photography Techniques • Creating a Mood Board • Creating an Art Image (Drawing, Painting, Crafts) • Introduction to Graphic Design • Rehearsing for a Performance (small component) • Using a Stimulus for a Performance (small component) • Researching a Topic • Developing a Personal Progression Plan • Working with Others • Being Organised This course provides a flexible and engaging introduction to the creative arts, with a primary focus on visual and digital arts, while also incorporating essential skills in performance. This prepares you for further study or entry-level opportunities in the industry
3 GCSEs at Grade E or above (including Maths and English or Welsh first Language), or equivalent Entry level qualifications.
You will be assessed at the end of each unit throughout the course and there are no formal examinations.
On successful completion and a personal tutor reference, this creative qualification will enable you to specialise in a Level 2 course of your choice within creative industries, or you will be able to transfer your personal and employability skills to the workplace. This course could form the foundation for many other vocational courses. It is possible to continue to progress through to Level 3 and degree level with successful completion at each stage.
