Learners will study for a Level 2 RSL qualification in Performing Arts, these units are designed to provide a vocational pathway for actors, dancers, and musical Theatre Performers, allowing learners to put their talent at the forefront.
You will study 5 units throughout the year, alongside your practical skills lessons in: Jazz Contemporary Ballet Tap dance Acting and singing lessons. The units you’ll be studying are; Planning for a Career (core), Final Production (core), Site Specific Drama, Ensemble Dance Performance, Ensemble Music Performance.
4 GCSEs at grade D or above (including Maths and English or Welsh first Language), or equivalent level 1 qualifications.
There is continuous assessment throughout the course for practical and written assignments. All units are internally assessed and externally moderated. On successful completion of this qualification an overall grade is given of Pass, Merit or Distinction.
After completing the RSL Level 2 Diploma, learners can progress to RSL Level 3 Performing Arts. This course provides the equivalent of 4 GCSEs and 3 A Levels, offering enough UCAS points to attend any university.
There is an audition as part of the interview process for this course.
