Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts

The Level 3 Performing Arts course provides students with the opportunity to develop advanced skills in Acting, Dance, Singing; designed to equip individuals who are passionate about pursuing a career in the creative industries or furthering their education in performing arts at university level with ‘Triple Threat’ training in all three disciplines. The course offers a combination of practical and theoretical learning, allowing students to explore and refine their creative abilities while understanding the technical and business aspects, expectations and demands of the performing arts industry.


Learners will take part in an exciting variety of performance opportunities such as; a Dance Showcase, End of Year Musical and a Play/Devised Performances that exemplifies a range of Theatre Genres and Acting styles, all of builds learners’ confidence and experiential learning of the entertainment field.

What Will I Learn?

Learners will study for a Level 3 RSL qualification in Performing Arts, these units are designed to provide a vocational pathway for actors, dancers, and musical Theatre Performers, allowing learners to put their talent at the forefront.


The course is made up of a selection of units, such as: Performance Preparation, Acting for the Camera, Jazz Dance for Musical Theatre, Theatre Genres, Rhythm & Tap, Acting through Song, Planning for a Career, Choreography, Vocal Techniques, Audition Techniques in both Acting & Dance. These run alongside your practical skills lessons in Jazz, contemporary, ballet, tap dance, acting and singing lessons.

Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs at grade C or above (including Maths and English or Welsh first Language), or equivalent level 2 qualifications


There is an audition as part of the interview process for this course.

Assessment

There is continuous assessment throughout the course for practical and written assignments. All units are internally assessed and externally moderated. On successful completion of this qualification an overall grade is given of Pass, Merit or Distinction.

Career Progression

After successful completion of this course you could progress onto the RSL Extended Level 3 in Performing Arts.
