The course is made up of nine units - five core units, which everyone takes, and five specialist units.

Core Units: these include; • Performance Preparation • Planning for a Career in the Creative and Performing Arts Specialist Units include: • Elizabethan or Jacobean Theatre L3 • Comedy Drama in Performance • Ensemble Dance Performance • Dance Technique and Performance 1 • Musical Theatre Performance

5 GCSEs at grades A*- C including English/Welsh and Maths/Numeracy or a BTEC Level 2 Diploma at merit grade or above in a creative related subject.

You will be invited to attend an audition/interview to prove your skills and qualities in an audition setting in dance/singing/drama. You will also be required to undertake an initial assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required.

There is continuous assessment throughout the course for practical and written assignments. All units are internally assessed and externally moderated. On successful completion of this qualification an overall grade is given of Pass, Merit or Distinction.

After successful completion of this course you could progress onto the RSL Extended Level 3 in Performing Arts.
