The first year of this course is made up of eight units - seven specialist units and a final project unit. You will learn how to produce film and television productions and how to analyse media products and audiences.
You will work on scriptwriting, camera work, special effects, and production and post-production practices for film and television. The projects can include documentary, music video and short film. The second year takes you up to 13 units and will develop your skills further with specialist production projects that will explore genre and audience as well as preparing you to progress in the industry or higher education.
5 GCSEs at grade C or above (including Maths and English or Welsh first Language), or a Merit in a level 2 vocational qualification.
There is continuous assessment throughout the course for practical and written assignments. All units are internally assessed and externally moderated. On successful completion of this qualification an overall grade is given of Pass, Merit or Distinction.
Progression is onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Media Production (Television & Film).
