Within these areas students can also sample character design, mood board and story boards. While the course primarily focuses on visual arts, there are also core units that foster the continued development of important skills including research, working with others and being organised. Each student will also plan their future with the development of a personal progression plan.

What Will I Learn?
Learners will study for a Level 1 BTEC Introductory Diploma in Art and Design, focusing on pathways to careers within the creative industries. The course is structured into ten practical units that cover various aspects of the creative industries: Creating an art image (drawing & painting), Creating a 3D art object, presenting an image using a camera, designing a product, creating an artifact using clay and Creating prints.
Entry Requirements
3 GCSEs at Grade E or above and/or Entry 3 Extended Certificate at Merit Merit grade.
Assessment
Continued assessment through the year with no exams. All ten units will be added to give a final grade at the end of the year. Grade outcomes are given as Pass, Merit or Distinctions.
