The course introduces drawing & painting skills and working in an experimental way with a range of media and techniques in both 2 & 3 dimensions. You will gain an excellent grounding in traditional techniques as well as computer technology.

You will be encouraged to explore and develop art and design ideas and produce effective outcomes.

You will require 4 GCSEs grades A* to D preferably including include English/Welsh and Maths/Numeracy or ESW at Level 2, or a Level 1 sector skills course qualification.

You will be invited to attend an interview. During this interview and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required and carry out a brief course related task.

All units are internally assessed and externally moderated, and on successful completion of the qualification an overall grade of pass, merit, or distinction is awarded

On successful completion of the course at merit grade you are able to apply for Level 3 Diploma courses in Art and Design.
