At AS Level we learn how media forms are constructed and the importance of digital technology and media convergence. You will learn by deconstructing media texts such as magazine covers, film trailers, adverts, TV programmes & websites. You will also learn how these are interpreted by different audiences.
For the practical part of the course you will create your own media products, including magazine front covers and a magazine article. During A2, you will study three different media industries in depth: Film, gaming and television. We will analyse different media texts and apply media theories to specific texts.
