On this course, you will study the following units:
• Understanding the Uniformed Public Services Sector
• Investigating Career Opportunities in the Uniformed Services
• Preparing for a Recruitment Interview
• Personal Commitment and Fitness Requirements for Uniformed Service Roles
• Impact of External Organisations on Uniformed Services
• Response of Uniformed Services in Emergency Situations
• Developing Skills and Qualities Needed for Uniformed Services (e.g., Leadership, Coaching, Conflict Management, Personal Protection, Teamwork, Communication, Navigation, Drill)
5 GCSEs at grade C or above (including Maths and English or Welsh first Language), or equivalent level 2 qualifications
To achieve the Level 3 in Public Services, you must complete internal assessments in all units. Assessment methods include:
• Practical Skills
• Oral Questioning
• Assignment Work
• Written Questions
• Examinations
All units are assessed and graded, culminating in an overall grade for the qualification.
After successfully completing the course, you will have gained a skill set that will help you with the recruitment process of the protective services or entry into higher education.
• Kit and Education Trips: Purchase of kit and/or participation in educational trips is required. Discuss this with a tutor during your interview to develop a tailored package based on your chosen course.
