You will study units that reflect the needs of the catering industry, while further preparing you for a career within this sector. You will study; Primary aspects of hospitality, Employment Standards, Health & Safety, Customer Service and Essential Skills or a GCSE.
Our Hospitality and Catering courses will give you the skills you need to success within the industry. You will gain hands on experience working within our professional kitchens and restaurants. Our training restaurants are open to the public, this will give you a great opportunity to see what it’s like to work in the industry. When you decide the time is right to look for employment you will already have experience of working within a professional environment.
3 GCSEs at Grade E or above (including Maths and English or Welsh first Language), or relevant Entry level qualifications. There is a practical skills assessment as part of the interview process for this course.
You will be assessed via a range of methods which include continual assessment, through observation of your practical work, the completion of a portfolio, theoretical evidence and assignment work.
As you progress, we can guide you towards a higher level course or assist you if you wish to go directly into employment. Whichever path you chose.
