At the programme’s core are the four pillars of learning: • Health and Wellbeing • Community Inclusion • Independent Living • Employability Communication, numeracy and digital literacy skills are a key part of learning, with opportunities to develop and practice these skills embedded within each of the four pillars.
The course is intended for applicants with moderate learning difficulties/disabilities and/or social/behavioural difficulties. Most learners would typically be working at entry level 2/3 Numeracy & Literacy
Following initial baseline assessments, using a person-centred approach learners will be set individual targets. Course tutors will provide support to track and review each target ensuring progress towards long term destinations.
Some learners may be able to progress onto supported internships or other FE programmes within the college.
