It will increase confidence in using a computer or different apps. The course can offer a variety of activities, including how to use the Internet, e-mail, touch typing, using various Microsoft Office programs or how to use a tablet computer. It will enable learners to access specialist speech and /or magnification software, such as Jaws or Supernova, utilise accessibility settings on tablets and suitable apps.

There is no formal entry criteria.

Those interested in attending college will be invited for an informal chat to discuss their needs, to discover the best way of working for them and also to gain an understanding of the different settings they may require on the computer or tablet, relevant to their particular eye condition.

On completion of the course, students will gain a unit linked to the Agored Cymru qualifications board. Assessment is by means of portfolio, compiled each lesson, whilst in class. There are no examinations.

After successful completion of the course, you could do further Agored Cymru units or access other courses within the college.
