Entry Level 3 Care & Service Industries

This course is designed to give students an introduction into care and service industries. You will be encouraged to develop the skills required to work in a care and service industry focusing on the service users, care needs, encouraging a healthy lifestyle, assisting at mealtimes and encouraging the use of creative and leisure activities.


You will also begin to identify suitable career paths within each sector.

What Will I Learn?

Students will complete a Certificate in Vocational Studies which includes the units:


Self-Assessment, Career Progression, Creative and Leisure Activities for Adults and Children, Health Needs, Presenting a Professional Image in a Salon, The Role of the Carer at Mealtimes and Basic Food Preparation Students will also complete a Communication and Application of Number qualification at Entry Level 3.

Entry Requirements

You must be working at Entry Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy. Working towards Entry 3 qualifications.

Assessment

Continuous assessment and monitoring of students throughout the year using written, practical and ICT tasks. A work placement will also be undertaken.

Career Progression

On successful completion of this course students will have the opportunity to progress onto one of the Level 1 courses offered at the college.
