The course allows the learners build the knowledge, understanding and skills they need for career progression or further study.
For the EAL Level 1 Certificate in Engineering Technologies (Electronics), the learner will study: • Introduction to Working in Engineering • Introduction to Electronics • Introduction to Electrical Installation • Introduction to Basic Maths and Science Used in Engineering
3 GCSEs at grade E or above (including Maths and English or Welsh first language)
There is a mixture of different assessment methods on the course. These vary from an on-screen exam and centre marked practical/theory assessment.
On successful completion of this course you could progress to a Certificate/Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Technology. Having developed the fundamental practical skills and a basic understanding of electrical and electronic concepts, employment opportunities could be sought in the field of Instrumentation and Electronic Control, such as petro chemical, gas and water distribution along with Electronic Assembly and Automation.
