Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of monitoring health and safety whilst working in the barbering industry. You will also develop a knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned throughout this qualification. The purpose of this qualification is to develop your practical skills to a high level of occupational ability to enable you to perform your own salon services. There are 3 units in total; Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon, Cut men's hair to create a variety of looks, Cut facial hair to create a variety of looks
You will require completion of the Level 2 Certificate in Barbering, as well as a reference from an employer and/or previous tutor. You may also be asked to complete a practical skills task.
We are looking for learners with a passion for the Barbering industry. You will be invited to participate in pre-course guidance activities which will include a course presentation. Relevant uniform and equipment is needed for this course; a full list will be provided. You may be invited to demonstrate your practical skills and flair to ensure progression from L2 to L3 is the correct path for you and your career aspirations.
You will be assessed via a range of methods which include continual assessment, through observation of your practical work, the completion of an e-portfolio, theoretical evidence, oral questioning and online external examinations.
On successful completion of this course you could progress to other sector skills qualifications.
