You’ll study towards a BTEC Extended Certificate in Vocational Studies, with units focused on health, social care, and childcare contexts. You’ll develop your understanding of communication, teamwork, and supporting individuals with different needs, including promoting wellbeing and safeguarding. You’ll also complete Essential Skills in Communication and Application of Number, helping you build the confidence and practical skills needed for further study.
No qualifications required. Delivered through the School of Foundation Learning, this course is primarily aimed at young people aged 16-24 who do not meet the entry criteria for Level 1 and above study. Applicants may not have achieved the entry criteria for higher level study, some may have little to no formal qualifications, some may have had a disrupted educational journey, disengaged from formal education, been educated at home or in a setting other that at school.
Your work will be assessed by a range of methods, including a collection of completed units, portfolios and practical observations.
On successful completion of this course, you may progress to other higher-level courses or to employment.
