This course aims to develop your confidence, widen your creative experiences and focus your progression route through the college. The aim on completion is for learners to access a level 1 course in creative media.
This course is aimed at learners who have a desire to be creative. This can show in many ways; Art, music, graphics, illustration, writing or photography.

The course is split into individual units that will be tailored to the needs of the learners. The course is practically based with an emphasis on experimentation and exploration.
Additional qualifications include the Essential Skills Wales in Communications and Numeracy
You must be working at Entry Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy. Working towards E3 qualifications.
You will be invited to attend an interview, and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy, to establish any support required.
Your work will be assessed by a range of methods, including portfolios and practical observations

Jobholders in this unit group investigate and write up stories and features for broadcasting and for newspapers, magazines and other periodicals, evaluate and manage their style and content and oversee the editorial direction of these types of output and publication.
Entrants usually possess a degree or equivalent qualification. A variety of postgraduate diplomas is available. NVQs/SVQs covering various aspects of journalism are available at Levels 3 and 4.
