Mae tri o bêl-droedwyr talentog Coleg y Cymoedd wedi eu dewis i chwarae i dîm rhyngwladol sy’n cynrychioli Cymru eleni.

Bydd Joseph Evans, Joshua Maksimovic a Samuel Jones yn gwisgo crysau Colegau ac Ysgolion Cymru mewn twrnameint rhyngwladol.

Bydd Joseph a Joshua, sy’n astudio Chwaraeon Lefel A, a Samuel, sy’n gwneud ei bynciau Lefel A, yn cystadlu yn erbyn gwledydd eraill Prydain ac yn teithio i’r Alban a Gogledd Iwerddon i gystadlu yng ngornest Tarian y Canmlwyddiant (Centenary Shield) ynghyd â chyd-bêl-droedwyr o bob cwr o Gymru.

Mae Josh wedi’i ddewis i gymryd rhan hefyd yng nghystadleuaeth fawr Roma Caput Mundi fydd yn cynnwys timau led-led Ewrop, gornest y bu Joe yn rhan ohoni’r llynedd.

Mae Joseph (18 o’r Beddau) yn chwarae fel Cefnwr Canol, tra bod Joshua (17 o Lanilltud Faerdref) yn Flaenwr Canol a Samuel (18 o Bontypridd) yn chwarae ar yr Asgell i Dîm Pêl-droed cyntaf Coleg y Cymoedd Nantgarw.

Yn ogystal â chwarae i academi pêl-droed y coleg, mae’r tri hefyd yn chwarae i Glwb Pêl-droed Cambrian & Clydach, gan ymddangos dros y tîm cyntaf a’r un ieuenctid. Mae Joshua a Samuel hefyd wedi’u dewis i dîm academi Cymdeithas Pêl-droed Cymru.

Dywed eu tiwtor chwaraeon, Al Lewis: “Mae’r holl staff hyfforddi yn falch iawn o’r anrhydeddau hyn. Maen nhw’n cynrychioli llawer o waith caled ac agwedd wych y bechgyn, sydd wedi ymroi’n llwyr i raglen pêl-droed y coleg.”

Meddai’r asgellwr Samuel Jones: “Mae Coleg y Cymoedd wedi rhoi cyfleoedd ardderchog i mi. Rydw i’n gwir fwynhau chwarae i’r tîm gan fod y safon yn uchel ac mae yna awyrgylch ffantastig ymhlith aelodau’r tîm. Roeddwn wedi fy synnu mod i wedi fy newis i chwarae i Golegau ac Ysgolion Cymru yn y gemau tramor a rydw i’n edrych ymlaen i gael y profiad.”

Mae Academi Chwaraeon Coleg y Cymoedd yn caniatáu i’r dysgwyr rannu eu hamser rhwng gweithio ar gyfer cymwysterau perthnasol a gwella eu sgiliau ar y cae chwarae. Mae’r coleg hefyd wedi lansio Academi Pêl-droed Elit i Ferched yn ddiweddar gyda Chymdeithas Pêl-droed Cymru, sydd wedi ei leoli ar gampws Ystrad Mynach.
