This course has been designed in consultation with business and leading Sector Skills experts to give you an understanding of the use of Information Technology within today's Microsoft Office environment.
This is an application-based course, which develops your skills and abilities to cope with more complex aspects of application-based software. It is for anyone who is interested in gaining practical software application skills and experience. All learning is undertaken within our modern and well-equipped IT classrooms and will take place within a supportive and friendly environment.
What Will I Learn?
Level 2 City and Guilds Diploma in IT Applications for Business, Level 2 Award in Work Skills and Welsh Level 2 City and Guilds Diploma in IT Applications for Business; Essential Skills Wales in Communication, and Application of Number. You will also have the opportunity to sit GCSE in English and Mathematics (Previous Grades dependant).
Within your Level 2 Diploma in IT Applications for Business qualification you may study units in: Improving Productivity Using IT, Web design, Desktop Publishing, IT Software Fundamentals, Email, Design Software, Internet, IT Communications Software, Multi Media, Drawing and Planning Software, Database, Spreadsheets, Presentation Graphics and Word Processing.
4 GCSEs at grades A*- D including English and Maths or a Level 1 Diploma in IT Applications for Business or related vocational qualification.
You will be invited to attend an interview and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required.
As part of the Level 2 Diploma you will be assessed by completing set assignments. You will be expected to work to deadlines and maintain your course files/portfolios to the required standards. These are internally assessed by your tutor, internally moderated and externally moderated by an examiner from City & Guildsct.
