This course will incorporate all the core elements of the Welsh Baccalaureate and will also give you the opportunity to study the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in IT. .
The BTEC programme offers you the opportunity to study computing from both theoretical and practical applications.
What Will I Learn?
Within the Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced qualification you will complete Enterprise activities, three Essential Skills and up to three Wider Key Skills. Within this subject you will also explore a wide range of areas including Wales, Europe and the World; Work-related Education and Personal and Social Education.
You will complete ninety credits to top up your existing Level 3 Diploma. The subjects include: Web Development; Software Design and Development, Maths for IT Practitioners, Flash for Games and 3D Modelling.
You will require a Level 3 Diploma in Information Technology.
You will be invited to attend an interview and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required. Applicants with appropriate experience who do not necessarily meet the academic qualifications may be considered
The Welsh Baccalaureate is assessed via the production of a portfolio of learning and the completion of a substantial project. Assessment is based on the units of study. All units will have internal assessments in the form of assignments and practical work.

- On successful completion of this course you have the opportunity to seek employment with your qualification as a Helpdesk or Systems Support Technician. Alternatively with appropriate grades you can progress onto Higher Education such as a Foundation Degree which may further your employment opportunities.

Air travel assistants issue travel tickets and boarding passes, examine other documentation, provide information and assistance at airport terminals and look after the welfare, comfort and safety of passengers travelling in aircraft.
Entrants usually possess GCSEs/S grades. Fluency in a foreign language may also be required in some posts. Training typically lasts between 3 to 6 weeks followed by a 6 to 12 month probationary period of on-the-job training.
