With growing opportunities for employment in the Creative Sector in Wales, there has been an increase in demand for learners with specific technical skills to meet local employer and industry needs. This course will focus on servicing those needs by developing your knowledge and skills in all areas of Creative Media and Technology using Adobe Creative Cloud, including: photography, film, TV, radio, games design, audio production, website design.
What Will I Learn?
The course focuses on developing skills and knowledge based on professional practices across a broad spectrum of technical production and industry related units, such as: audio production, interactive media, production techniques, visual production and personal project.
4 GCSEs at grades A*- D preferably including English/Welsh and Maths/Numeracy or ESW at Level 2, or a Level 1 sector skills course qualification.
You will be invited to attend an interview. You will also be required to undertake an initial assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required.
Each unit is assessed based on the specific requirements of specifications distributed by the awarding body and includes a combination of practical, project-based assessment and written planning, research, evaluation and reflection. Projects are designed to focus on developing skills that address the needs of local creative sector employers and industry. All units are internally assessed and externally moderated to ensure National Standards are met.

The expansion of Coleg y Cymoedd's Creative Media provision will further enhance progression opportunities from our Level 1 provision onto our specialist Level 3 Creative Media Production (TV and Film) and Higher Education courses, including our Foundation Degree in Games Art and Design franchised via the University of South Wales.

Entry is generally via career progression from related occupations. There are no pre-set entry standards, but in practice most directors hold a degree. Off- and on-the-job training is provided.
