The use of computer aided design (CAD) systems in industry has become an essential part of the modern working environment. It is used at all stages of the design process, from conceptualisation and production of working drawings. Modern CAD systems are ever developing and have changed the computing skills required by a designer.
This qualification gives the opportunity for you to develop the knowledge and skills required to create detailed 2 dimensional drawings of engineering components and assemblies. You will improve your understanding of CAD, in terms of hardware, software and drawing techniques.
What Will I Learn?
You will learn how to fully utilise the CAD software within the model space and paper space environment.
You will start with generating basic 2D CAD drawings and will progress to constructing detailed and complex drawings of engineering components.
There are no entry requirements for this course.
The assessment consists of 2 practical assessments along with one short answer paper.
