This course is a first step for those who have an interest in the financial sector. The qualification’s broad introduction to financial services makes it suitable for a wide audience from employees new to the industry to those considering a career in finance. It is an ideal alternative for staff already working within financial services who wish to further their industry knowledge, but who are not directly involved in making investment decisions.
Learners will be introduced to the basic knowledge required for working in the Financial Services Sector, with a focus on investments and the role and responsibility of financial services in society. Free student membership of the CISI is included with the course.
What Will I Learn?
You will learn about the types of banking and commonly used financial products, such as shares, bonds and insurance. The course will provide you with an understanding of financial terminology and enable you to perform important basic calculations.
Topics studied include Ethics and Integrity in Financial Services, Introduction to saving and borrowing, Banking, Equities/Shares/Stocks, Bonds, Markets and other areas of Financial Services
Although there are no formal entry requirements for this course you will require a good standard of numeracy and literacy. This can be demonstrated by English and Maths at GCSE grades A*- C, related vocational qualifications or recent experience in a Financial Services Role.
You will be invited to attend an interview with the course tutor to establish your suitability for the course.
You will be assessed via an externally assessed, computer based, multiple choice exam.
