This course consists of the following accredited qualifications: • Level 3 60 credit Subsidiary Diploma in Engineering (with and Electrical/Electronic bias) • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations • Essential Skills Wales qualifications in communications, application of number, and ICT at levels 2 or above
Because of the demanding content of this programme, the course is delivered over 30 hours per week. You will also be required to attend five weeks placement, working in an engineering environment. These periods will take place during half term holidays and the arrangements will be made by the college.
What Will I Learn?
For the Subsidiary Diploma you will study: Electronic principles, Electronic Measurement and Testing, communications Mathematics; Health & Safety.
For the NVQ Diploma you will study Working safely in an engineering environment; carrying out practical tasks in an Electrical/Electronic laboratory. This will include building and testing circuits and components.
5 A* - C grades at GCSE including Maths, English/Welsh & Science. It is also mandatory that you pass an entry examination
This course will be assessed through a variety of Assignments along with some practical assessments, depending on the unit.
