Course Information

The course is designed for those who would like to pursue a career in the technical and professional areas of the construction industry for example; Architectural design, Building maintenance & surveying, Quantity surveying, Site Management and Civil engineering.

You will be introduced to the employment opportunities available in the construction industry, enabling you to choose your preferred area of work, and if already in employment.

What Will I Learn?

In year 1 you will study:

Mathematics Science & Materials Building Technology This will give you an understanding of the scientific principles behind the design and construction of buildings. You will learn about the different types of foundations and the forms that buildings take.

In year 2 you will study:

Health and Safety Sustainable Construction Construction Technology and Design This will show how building interact with the natural environment, how the design process is organised and you will develop technical drawing skills by designing a house.

Entry Requirements

5 GCSE’s at C or above including Maths and English/Welsh Language
