The Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology (QCF) is a job ready qualification based on National Occupational Standards (NOS).
The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in Nail Services to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to perform your own salon services.
What Will I Learn?
This qualification will provide you with the knowledge, understanding and skills to work competently as an advanced practitioner in the nail industry. Throughout this qualification you will provide manicure and pedicure treatments, monitor and maintain health and safety practices, client care and communication, maintain health and well being and apply and maintain nail enhancements.
To further enhance your practical skills you will have the opportunity to study the following practical units; Display stock to promote sales, promote products and services, enhance nails using electric files and design and appy nail art
You will also be required to complete: L3 Communication L3 Application of Number L3 Working with Others
5 GCSE’s at grades A*-D including English/Welsh and Maths/Numeracy, or a Level 2 sector skills course qualification or manicure and pedicure qualification is required. Experienced therapists will also be considered.
Assessment will include practical observation, oral questions, written questions and externally set exams. You will need to create a portfolio of evidence.

- This is an approved qualification for working as a senior nail technician. It also provides a sound platform for further learning or training. Progression opportunities exist in the form of specialist VTCT vocationally related qualifications at Levels 3 and 4.

Job holders in this unit group plan, organise, direct and co-ordinate the activities and resources of hairdressing salons, beauty treatment and similar establishments.
No formal qualifications are required for entry although entrants usually possess a BTEC/SQA award, an NVQ/SVQ in Hairdressing at Level 3, an apprenticeship and/or relevant experience.
