A one year course designed for learners who wish to develop new or existing skills required by today's businesses and IT sectors. The course is suitable for learners who are interested in developing new or existing skills which are needed for employment in a range of IT, business and administrative careers; providing the opportunity for you to develop skills and manage a range of IT software packages.
This is a course, which starts from the basics and develops through to more complex aspects of Microsoft application-based software. It is for anyone who is interested in gaining practical software application skills and business and administration experience. All learning is undertaken within our modern and well-equipped classrooms and will take place within a supportive and friendly environment. An introduction to using IT Skills for the workplace and in preparation for studying at a higher level.
What Will I Learn?
Within your Level 1 Award in IT Applications for IT Users qualification there will be an opportunity for you to study units from a selection offered which may include: Word Processing, Desktop Publishing, Design Software, Internet, Spreadsheets and Presentation Graphics. A range of IT Units will be further explained at interview.
You will be invited to attend an interview and will undertake an assessment in literacy, numeracy and oral communication skills which will also establish any individual support required.
As part of the Level 1 Award for IT Users you will be assessed by completing set assignments. You will be expected to work to deadlines and maintain your course files/portfolios to the required standards. These are internally assessed by your tutor, internally moderated and externally moderated by an examiner.
