This course will provide an introduction to different vocational skills. You will have the opportunity to participate in visits in the local area and experience a variety of units based on progression opportunities on each campus.
What Will I Learn?
You will study Edexcel BTEC Entry Level Certificate in Vocational Studies– which could include Tourism, Art & Design, Internet, Digital Images, Presentation Software, Public Services and Health Needs units etc.
The units delivered may diver on each campus as these are planned to ensure ‘tasters’ for future higher level courses. You will also complete Essential Skills Communication; Essential Skills Application of Number; Essential Skills ICT and a BTEC Award in Workskills.
You must be aged 16 or over and be working at Entry Level 2/3. Working towards a range of E3 qualifications.
You will be invited to attend an interview, and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy, to establish any support required.
There will be an initial assessment prior to starting the course. Assessment is on a continuous basis and you will need to put together a portfolio of your work throughout the course. Qualifications are gained by completing written, oral and practical tasks.
