This course will incorporate all the core elements of the Welsh Baccalaureate and will also give you the opportunity to study the Level 3 Diploma in IT with a focus on Computer Game and Web Design.
The programme offers you the opportunity to study computing from both theoretical and practical applications.
What Will I Learn?
You will complete a ninety credit qualification. The subjects include: Computer Game Design, Developing Computer Games, Web Production, Web Server Scripting, 2D Animation and Project Planning.
You will require 5 GCSEs at grades A*- C including Maths and English or a Welsh Baccalaureate with a Level 2 Diploma in Information Technology with at least a merit profile. You will be invited to attend an interview and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required.
Applicants with appropriate experience who do not necessarily meet the academic qualifications may be considered
The Welsh Baccalaureate is assessed via the production of a portfolio of learning and the completion of a substantial project. Assessment is based on the units of study. All units will have internal assessments in the form of assignments and practical work.
