Course Information
This qualification provides learners with an understanding of the knowledge needed when working directly with children and young people in a school or college environment. It will enable learners to gain an understanding of elements including children and young people’s development, safeguarding their welfare, and communication and professional relationships.
This qualification is aimed at learners working in support roles within schools and colleges.
What Will I Learn?
You will be introduced to the knowledge and information required to work in a school setting.
The qualification is made up of 11 mandatory Units covering child and young person development, safeguarding the welfare of children and young people, communication and professional relationships and schools as organisations, assessment methods etc.
You will be required to gain experience in a school setting.
Entry Requirements
CACHE L2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or 5 GCSEs Grade C or above (including English/Welsh and Maths). Plus DBS clearance. Life experience and other qualifications will be considered
Assessment
Units are assessed by means of written tasks and a range of assessments in real work environments.
