Course Information
This course has been designed in consultation with business and leading Sector Skills experts to give you an understanding of the use of Information Technology within today's Microsoft Office environment.
It is an application-based course, which develops your skills and abilities at a complex level of application-based software. It is for anyone who is interested in gaining high levels of practical software application skills and experience. All learning is undertaken within our modern and well-equipped IT classrooms and will take place within a supportive and friendly environment.
What Will I Learn?
Level 3 City and Guilds Diploma in IT Applications for Business, Level 3 Essential Skills Wales in Communication, ICT and Application of Number. You will also have the opportunity to sit GCSE in English and Mathematics (Previous Grades dependant).
Within your Level 3 Diploma in IT Applications for Business qualification you may study units in: Improving Productivity Using IT, Web Design, Desktop Publishing, Email, Design Software, Drawing and Planning Software, Databases, Spreadsheets, Presentation Graphics and Word Processing. These are internally assessed by your tutor, internally moderated and externally moderated by an examiner from City & Guilds.
Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs at grades A*- C including English/Welsh and Maths/Numeracy or a Level 2 in IT Applications for Business or related Level vocational qualification.
You will be invited to attend an interview and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required.
Assessment
As part of the Level 3 Diploma you will be assessed by completing set assignments. You will be expected to work to deadlines and maintain your course files/portfolios to the required standards.
