You will learn by completing advanced practical projects and assessments that are based on realistic workplace situations that have been identified in order to operate effectively job roles within the Engineering Sector. You will also study Computer Aided Design (CAD), which enables the learner to have the knowledge and practical skills to create complex drawings including annotations and outputs using multiple view layouts.
You will also complete units of the QPEO Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations at level 2. In addition to these qualifications, you will also study, at an appropriate level, Essential Skills for Work & Life, Communication, Application of Number or GCSE English/Maths.
What Will I Learn?
For the VRQ Certificate, you will study the following units:
• Engineering and Environmental Health and Safety • Mechanical Engineering Principles • Advanced Turning
For the Level 3 Computer Aided Design (CAD) course, you will learn how to fully utilise the CAD software within the model-space and paper-space environment. You will start by generating basic 2D CAD drawings and progress to constructing complex detailed drawings.
For the QPEO Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations, you will complete the following unit: • Producing mechanical engineering drawing
Entry Requirements
Appropriate Level 2 qualification such as a Level 2 in Engineering Technologies.
You will be invited to attend an interview, and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy, to establish any support required.
