Course Information
This course is an excellent introduction to technician level Engineering and includes the fundamental knowledge and skills required to progress on to further study in Engineering. The units delivered have a mechanical bias and the programme complements learners already working in the mechanical Engineering sector.
What Will I Learn?
The combination of units for this qualification is: Mechanical Principles, Mathematics, Health & Safety, Engineering Drawing, CNC Programming, and CAD.
Entry Requirements
You must show evidence that you have achieved a minimum of five A* - C grade GCSEs that must include the subjects of English, Maths and Science. Alternatively, other appropriate level 2 qualifications will be considered providing the units achieved suitably prepare you for this level 3 programme. The best way to do this is to provide the course tutor with a copy of your certificate showing the units accredited.
Assessment
Assessment is via a mixture of practical assignments, written assignments and in-class tests. All units are assessed and graded and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded.

- On successful completion of this course previous learners have progressed into careers in many engineering disciplines. Many learners progress onto the BTEC level 3 Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering. There is a clear route through to incorporated and chartered status. BTEC Diplomas are valued by employers and higher education institutions.
