Course Information
The aim of this qualification is to give learners the opportunity to acquire and develop a broad range of knowledge and skills in the information technology sector and the creative industries. This will enable them to progress to further learning.
All full time learners will be expected to attend skills sessions as well as their chosen vocational course. You will also be asked to attend tutorial sessions as part of your full-time course timetable.
What Will I Learn?
You will study a range of units some of which include: developing digital information using IT, solving technical problems, creating a website, creating a computer program, researching a topic, working with others and using digital communication technologies.
Entry Requirements
You will require 3 GCSEs grades A* to E including Maths and English or successful completion of Entry 3 Foundation qualifications.
You will be invited to attend an interview and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required. At Coleg Y Cymoedd we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your assessments. The better your grades the more options you will have and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher –level course.
Assessment
All learning is undertaken within our modern and well-equipped IT classrooms and workshops. You will undertake an assessment in each unit which can be generated through a range of activities, including assignments, role play, practical performance and verbal presentations. There are no formal examinations however you will be expected to work to deadlines and maintain your course files/portfolios to the required standards.
