Course Information
This is a part-time course and is the second year of a two year construction diploma in order for you to gain entry into Higher Education. The course is designed for those who would like to pursue a career in the technical and professional areas of the construction industry for example; Architectural design, Building maintenance & surveying, Quantity surveying, Site Management and Civil engineering. Alongside the course you will also complete the Welsh Baccalaureate which will improve your employability skills.
As part of the course you will have the opportunity to undertake work experience with consultants and other organisations working in the construction and property industry. This will give an insight into different career pathways and may lead to employer sponsorship.
What Will I Learn?
The top up diploma will consists of an additional six modules.
You will be able to study modules related to different career pathways for example: Site management, Site surveying, Building surveying, Building maintenance, Estimating and Quantity surveying
Emphasis is placed on you gaining employability skills: such as research skills, team work, presentation skills which play an important part of the course.
Entry Requirements
Successful completion of a Level 3 Extended Certificate in Construction
Assessment
Learners will complete a range of practical tasks, written assignments and examinations. Each module is graded with an overall Pass, Merit or Distinction.

Purchase of steel toe capped boots, overalls and a course text book is required for this course. Please discuss this at interview stage with a tutor after you have applied.
