Course Information
The course is largely performance based. You will have the opportunity take part on or offstage in a variety of different performances throughout the year, including a Shakespeare Festival performed in a professional Theatre. Alongside the performance elements of the course, the timetable includes Media, Art, Photography, Literacy and Numeracy.
Learners will take part in creating and editing short films, making their own animations, writing for a media product, editing own photos using different software and exhibiting their Art work. Students are also given to opportunity to showcase their skills in the regional ‘Inclusive Skills Competition’.
What Will I Learn?
The course is split into individual units, working towards a Certificate qualification in Performing Arts. The course is varied with a number of exciting units such as; Taking part in a Performance, Producing Images for a Media Product, Recording & modifying material for a Media Product, Writing and editing for a Media Product, Designing and making an art Product
Additional qualifications include the Essential Skills Wales in Communications and Numeracy at Entry 3.
Entry Requirements
You must be working at Entry Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy. Working towards Entry 3 qualifications.
Once you have applied, you will be invited to attend an interview, and undertake a short assessment in literacy and numeracy, to establish any support required.
Assessment
Your work will be assessed by a range of methods, including a collection of completed units, portfolios and practical observations.
