Course Information
The use of computer aided design (CAD) systems in industry has become an essential part of the modern working environment. It is used at all stages of the design process, from conceptualisation and production of working drawings to the production of virtual reality images. Modern CAD systems are ever developing and have changed the computing skills required by a designer.
This qualification give the opportunity for you to develop the knowledge and skills required to create parametric solid models of engineering components and assemblies. You will improve your understanding of CAD Parametric Modelling, in terms of hardware, software and modelling techniques.
What Will I Learn?
The use of complex sketching and 2D constraints to create features How to create and edit work features and use complex feature commands
How to create and modify simple table driven parts and assemblies The use of motion and driven assembly constraints
How to add annotations to a drawing How to create presentation quality displays of parts and assemblies
Entry Requirements
You have some experience in computing, perhaps in manufacturing or engineering design, and want to increase your knowledge and skills and progress in your career. You have previously completed the Level 1 qualification.
Assessment
The course is assessed by: Two in class assignments covering the practical skills developed through the year. One GOLA on-line multi choice test covering the underpinning knowledge required.
